The sun sets over the pacific
Pacific Time just up and left last night. If supposed if I read the chron I might have seen it coming, but as someone who just re-upped for a year of the KQED’s product, a little forwarning would have been nice from Greg Sherwood and the gang at the station. Not that I was the biggest fan of the show (though I might have a thing for Nguyen Qui Duc). As he lamented last night: the show wasn’t about being interesting so much as telling you what people in places you didn’t think about much were worrying about, both the critical and the banal. Though not as riveting as This American Life, it was also far less self important, and some how centering.
My money is that since Duc stepped down as host a year ago, the show just sort of faded. Too bad.
Since it’s my dollars on the line here, I wish they just axed California Report. It’s both not interesting and in California. I can look out my window and see uninteresting things here.
