The Internet Has Been Boring For the Last Month
According to Rob. And by the internet I think he’s referring to the gaming/gadget/deals section. And I can’t say I disagree. The new macs are great and all, but I really wasn’t nearly as excited as I thought I would be. CES was an overwhelming blitz of nifty products, for sure, but blah.
I just don’t care so much anymore.
Used to be I would get a gadget and I would be amused for at least a few days. Indeed, the shopping leading up to the gadget and the price haggling and the feature comparing was all great fun. Now I just want things that work.
Speaking of things that just work, I found Macworld just very blah. All very shiny, all very smooth, but I didn’t really want any of it. Ok so I want a new powerbook. But only when iPhoto is choking.
Growing up maybe?
It’s nice. I’ve been 20 days Halo free. My folks bought me a nifty Canon digicam, real small but of good quality. I’m playing guitar more. Even reading fiction. My time suck these days is the crossword.
I’m also digging the hacking sites. I’ve participated, I’ve learned, and I look forward to new submissions and ideas. We’re getting a Metcal anydaynow and I can’t wait to solder my pinky to my ring finger, Johnny Tremain style, while working on a sunday project.
No no I’m not swearing off future gadgets or very thin tv’s. It’s just that I don’t really care how many inputs the new Sony has. And I just don’t know why. Perhaps others feel the same?
