A bus ride from Sokendai to Tsukuba, interrupted by a brief stop for udon in Tokyo, and we’re on a humid drag surrounded by nothing but trees, and a gaggle of gawking gardeners. (Four Overpacked Gaijin).

Direction

So the difference in how once write an “n” sound vs. a “so” sound is the direction of the stroke is written. Not on paper, but how it’s put down. You have to understand that people think my D’s are sometimes P’s. Yes, I’ve been called Pan.

Now it’s just the location. I’ve been in Japan for four days and I’ve been solely within complexes: airports and hotels. It’s been raining pretty steadily for the past few days, now that it’s stopped it seems that we just can’t walk anywhere. So that’s annoying.

However,

1) Saw fitness product ads on late night TV. Body by Jake, ab rocker-doodle, etc. Dubbed.

2) Japanese hotel buffet sucks as bad(ly) as it’s american counterpart. Etiquette goes to pot and, no matter how awful, no one can resist the breakfast bacon.

3) Steel can Asahi vended via machine. [...]
